Double Savonius Rotor Wind Trubine
Originally invented in 1926 by Sigurd Savonius. The special blades lead to a low rotor resistance at the start up of the wind turbine even at low wind speeds. At the same time the rotor produces a high torque regardless of wind direction. 


This rotor design eliminates the need for a rotation mechanism. Making use of every gust of wind, regardless of direction whilst simultaneously capable of weathering storms through build-in speed limitation. The rotor further benefits from a good load distribution on 2 or 3 bearings, minimising material stress.
